The league will consist of a 20 round draft (MLB and MiLB players are draftable) followed by FA, so you are not forced to have a real life franchise affiliation - you truly build from scratch.
The league is set-up with a similar framework to MKIA with the following main changes ...
Contracts(i) League minimum for MLB players is $500K.
(ii) Maximum contract length is 5 years (no 2 years at league minimum, 3 years if under X, etc.)
FA Bidding(i) FA bidding will be blind
(ii) An owner will post a FA for bid and everyone will have 72 hours to send in an AAS bid to the LO
(iii) After 72 hours deadline has passed, LO will review and post all bids to determine top bidder
(iv) Top bidder will then select length of contract and structure as desired
Salary(i) AAS variance will be 25% rather than 40%
(ii) There will be no dropped salary credit when a player is resigned by another team.
Franchise Tag(i) Franchise Tag will not be tied to real life salary
(ii) Salary will be determined by number of years an owner decides to sign the player
(iii) 5 years will cost $15M AAS, 4 years cost $12M, 3 years $9M, 2 years $6M, 1 year $3M
(iv) Owner can then structure deal as they desire
RFA Tag(i) Hometown discount will be 20% rather than 15%
Trading(i) Salary Cap may be traded during the current season. We will not allow cap to be traded for future years to avoid any issues with an owner trading a significant chunk of cap and then leaving.
Scoring / Positions(i) Hitting categories - OPS, R, HR, RBI, net SB
(ii) Pitching categories - QS, ERA, WHIP, K/9, net SV+HD
(iii) C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UTIL, 8 P slots
