Welcome to the league, Mark! You can go ahead and take over the Cubs. Please start w/ creating a team roster page (along w/ transaction log) similar to most other teams -- unfortunately, the previous GM seems to have completely neglected that, but you can probably grab all the relevant roster and payroll info from the league spreadsheet (at the quick link above w/ the spreadsheet-like icon next to the Cot's link).
You may also opt to change the team name, preferably w/in the next week or so.
And please feel free to ask questions if anything's not clear -- the rules and setup can be a bit overwhelming (and might not always be perfectly clear to everyone), especially for anyone new to this sort of league.
