We're still in urgent need of a new GM to take over the Padres, especially w/ the tags deadline looming tonight. IF you know anyone who might be interested, please have him/her contact us asap.

And because of the Padres specific situation, I'm offering the new GM these modest aids/concessions, if someone would take on this challenge today (ahead of the tags deadline):
1. I will personally eat this year's $20 league fee for the Padres, so the new GM can spend his/her 1st year rebuilding for free -- don't worry; the pot will not be smaller because of this.
2. I am offering this beneficial trade to help the team rebuild:
The Dodgers' current Franchise Player Tag + late 2nd round and 4th round MiLB picks
for
The Padres' 2017 Franchise Player Tag
In reviewing the Padres roster (and payroll), looks like it could use the franchise player tag this year (w/ players like Alex Gordon, Ryan Braun, et al going FA) waaaaaay more than next year (w/ no interesting signed players going FA next year). And the 2 additional (albeit relatively modest) MiLB picks should also help w/ the rebuild, especially if the new GM does some good homework for prospects.
This trade offer only works if the new GM takes the Padres before the tags deadline today (by midnight PT) -- I suppose we could allow a short extension if needed, but not more than a day I imagine (and we'd need the rest of the league's ok on this, if so). Also, there might be other additional trade options just before that deadline (that might disappear afterward).
So again, if you know anyone interested, please have him/her contact us asap.
