The A's had a few guys that shouldn't be owned in leagues that hold 500 minor leaguers, let alone 180. I dropped them on Fantrax. Do I need to post those drops on the Free Agents board or anywhere else?

Yes - please post a separate thread for each one in the Free Agents section. Thanks.

FWIW, you can always wait until you actually need the roster space before dropping them -- you're required to reserve 300K for each empty minors spot (out of 10) anyway, and no further cap hit if you drop them before the regular season begins.

How many minors are we allowed to have?

Must always have at least 10 slots reserved.

How many minors are we allowed to have? The rules originally required a minimum of 20 MLB-ers, so that means max of 20 prospects. Also, the rostering rule was amended (a few years ago) to require maintenance of legal lineup (as normally required by CBS hosting... though Fantrax doesn't do anything to enforce this). We haven't been strict about actually requiring 20 (non-prospect) MLB-ers -- generally, if you have enough active (and short-term DL-ed) players to field full active lineups (and some of them might still be considered prospects), that's all we've required in actual practice. It's rare for any team to bump into that max limit on rostering prospects, except maybe temporarily, and generally doesn't make too much sense to roster more than 20 prospects here (beyond temporarily) anyway.

Thanks Man. I have 10 picks in the upcoming draft and needed to know if I had to drop some minors before the draft. When is the Minor League draft?

The MiLB draft happens after FA. And you're welcome to hang onto your minor leaguers until your actual pick and then drop someone to make room.
