Note: A brief extension was allowed in this case only because the rule amendment regarding Franchise Player designation for still protected youngsters is not very well known (and not updated to the big, main rules document).

Actually, that Mets tag wasn't late -- it was just in time for the midnight PT deadline. But yeah, since it seems to not be a well understood/known amendment and I also mentioned it to others so last minute, it's reasonable enough to allow this exception.
