The League's first annual prospect draft will begin Saturday March 3rd at 6 AM PST.
1. The Draft will be comprised of 5 rounds.
2. Drafted players will have a salary cost of $300,000 in 2007. In 2008 1st round picks will be costed at $500,000 with only 2nd-5th round picks costed at $300,000. (Due to the fact that a number of 2006 draftees were acquired as FAs last summer)
3. Only players who meet the KIA prospect eligibility criteria and who are under contract to a MLB team may be drafted.
4. Foreign professional players are not eligible for this draft.
5. Teams will be allowed 6 hours to make their selection.
6. The time clock will not operate from Midnight to 6 AM PST.
7. The draft order is based on the reversed order of standings as follows and will be the same for each round. (This is not a snake draft.)

8. You make replace an existing prospect with a drafted player and not be responsible for 50% of the salary of the player released provided that the replaced player was not acquired as a FA. In the latter event the team must pay 50% of the replaced player's salary.
9. Draft picks are tradeable.
10. As a courtesy, teams which have completed their selections prior to the end of the draft should advise the LO accordingly so that they can be skipped in subsequent rounds.
11. Any prospect eligible player not drafted may be acquired as a FA after the KIA draft is complete. However, players acquired by MLB via the June draft may not be acquiired as FAs until after the 2008 KIA draft.
