Hello league. To give you all a little background on my baseball history, I'm 30 and not only a big Tigers fan but also a huge baseball fan and striving to be a historian. Played until after High School in a college level league and I coudn't come close to hitting a slider. I grew up a Tigers fan(always my #1), the Reds were my NL team(Pete Rose was my Favorite player), I also liked the Red Sox since they had Wade Boggs, Clemens and Burks who were also some favorite players. As the Pete Rose story came out that he gambled on baseball, I turned away from the Reds and Rose. When I was 10 or so I found out that the Red Sox SOLD Babe Ruth so I hated the Sox from there on and became a Yankee fan. I've always been a die hard Tigers fan, have had season tix for 10 years and went to every playoff game in 2006.
I was a stat kid who collected cards and in 91 or 92 a couple friends and I started our own fantasy baseball league. I had a subscription to Baseball weekly(every boxscore) for as long as i could remember and I was in charge of keeping stats. We started off with Homers, RBIs and SB's for hitting and W's K's and Saves for pitching. We did this for a couple years until we found the internet, and since then I've been in at least 2 Fantasy Baseball leagues every year. I'm currently in a H2H 12 team dynasty league that is in it's 8th year(currently 2nd), and a 15 team 5X5 Roto league(1st by a wide margin).
Well sorry to bore you but figured I would give you a little background on myself.

Step #1: create a new roster Thread and a new Transaction thread in the "Washington Nationals" section. Step #2: you've accepted the CBS invite so you're good-to-go with setting the CBS roster. Step #3: There's a Trade section in which you can post the names of the players you are interested in trading. You can also PM any GM if you're interested in a player on his roster. Step #4: There's a Free Agent section in which player bidding occurs. i recommend that you read the bidding rules. Finally we maintain a Google spreadsheet which itemizes the players and salaries that each team is currently responsible for. That can be found here: mlbknowitalls.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=81Welcome Byron, and if there are more questions a PM to me or Man will get an answer pretty quickly.

Wondering why it says I have Verlander on my team in the Salary Contract spreadsheet and the roster sheet but I don't have him on CBS?

Is this worded wrong?
3/11/09 - Fernando Martinez, OF, Aaron Poreda, SP/RP, Sean Gallagher, SP, and Mark Melancon, RP, and picks 3.16, 3.18, and 4.16 in the 2009 MiLB draft traded to the Detroit Tigers for Justin Verlander, SP, and a 2010 franchise tag.

IF CBS keeps stats where are the actual standings at? is that on CBS or is that somewhere else? You guys were right on having questions lol

We can't easily fix that retroactively because it might lead to a bunch of days w/ illegal lineups and such (probably mainly for the O's). If you *really* want to, I guess I can give it a try, but I doubt it'd impact the standings enough to matter much anyway since we're only talking about 1 good SP changing hands for the last ~3 months -- the rest in that trade made essentially zero impact. Judging from the stats Verlander had and the Nats' pitching stats/points (and the fact another pitcher would need to sit for Verlander to start), I'd guess you could gain *maybe* 10pts if we retroactively fix it. But then, who would we sit from your pitching staff to give Verlander a starting spot though? You can see the current CBS standings here: mkia.baseball.cbssports.com/standings

Not too sure why. We were trying to get the Nats GM to register for a while there, and then, since the O's GM didn't pursue the matter further, I guess we all forgot about the trade needing to be fixed on CBS.

Speaking of owners....do we have an Athletics' owner at all? Have we ever since I have been here? Am I missing something?
