To all, During this offseason prior to 2010, we are lifting the salary cap and roster limits, except for the Harden do-over auction/signing -- for that specific case, you must still adhere to 2009 cap/roster limits since it's effectively an in-season do-over. Beyond the Harden do-over, please just make sure that your payroll will get under the 2010 cap by circa mid-Jan 2010 when we will have deadlines for updated 2010 rosters and posting of tags. Please also make sure your team meets the usual 30/10 roster limits by then. We expect that everyone should deal responsibly enough to meet both salary cap and roster limits by mid-Jan 2010 -- and not need us to come after you repeatedly to do so. Thank you for your cooperation. And have a great offseason both w/ the trading here in FBB-land and in that other life in the upcoming holiday season! ;D -The League Office-

Just an FYI, but we will very likely do something similar again this offseason (basically until the tags deadlines circa mid-Jan) unless there is some well reasoned objections to that.
Only diff might be that we may go w/ temporary explicit allowances of either 5M or 10M in cap overage and maybe 3-to-5 spots in roster overage (rather than implicitly unlimited allowances like last year) for the rest of 2010. Would be some sort of reasonable compromise to allow the extra flexibility while helping ensure some sanity w/ trade activity during the offseason.
However, before we reopen trade activity for the offseason and relax the normal limits, we need everyone to already be in full compliance w/ the 2010 salary cap and the usual 40-man roster limit (w/ 10 minimum spots reserved for prospects).
Thanks for your cooperation...

As indicated previously, the roster and cap limits will be temporarily raised for the rest of 2010 as follows:
* Overall roster limit raised to 45 until start of 2011
* Salary cap raised to $114M until start of 2011 (when it will settle at the expected $106M for 2011)
Please note that your team must already comply w/ the regular rostering and salary cap limits before being allowed this temporary increase in flexibility for the rest of 2010.
Thanks for your cooperation...

Do you mean the start of the 2011 MLB Season in April, or the calendar start of 2011 in January? I think January

Has it been decided that we will be at $106M for the 2011 CAP?

Yes, unless we actually have a rule change, our cap is supposed to escalate at 2M/year.
It was 104M last year, so it should be 106M this year.

All,
Please be reminded that you must comply w/ the normal rostering/cap limits no later than the tags deadline. As usual, the rostering limits apply to your tagged players as well.
Thanks...

Status quo from offseason last year, except the cap limit is $2M higher than last year. So from now until the tags deadline some time in mid-January, the following applies: * Overall roster limit raised to 45 until the tags deadline in mid-Jan 2012 * Salary cap raised to $116M until the tags deadline in mid-Jan 2012 (when it will settle at the expected $108M for 2012) Please note though that future year caps still apply as usual (though that really shouldn't put a crimp on anyone's trading at all). Thanks for your cooperation...
