All, In order to help facilitate following the rule for max allowed high bids, the LO will try maintaining a quick reference list of adjustments pending trades only here for all teams (based on number of open MLB roster spots). Our basis will be what we have for each team in the league spreadsheet's Summary page -- please refer to that for the base number. Remember, your max allowed high bids, including won auctions (for non-prospects) = open MLB/non-prospect roster spots + 1. Pre-adjusted List for Max High Bids AllowedAdjustments based on pending trades: | Max MLB FA Adj | Astros | 0 | A's | 0 | Brewers | 0 | Cubs | 0 | Dodgers | +1 | Indians | 0 | Mariners | +1 | Marlins | 0 | Nationals | 0 | Orioles | -1 | Pirates | -1 | Rangers | -2 | Rays | 0 | Reds | 0 | Red Sox | 0 | Royals | -2 | White Sox | 0 | Yankees | +3 |
If you spot any errors, you should notify the LO asap -- everyone should really doublecheck his roster periodically against the spreadsheet anyway. NOTE: If you've made a recent trade that has not yet been approved, then your allowed number will be adjusted accordingly (as noted in this post) even though the trade is not approved yet. Since 99.99% of trades get approved, there's not much point in holding back on the adjustment. That's also why traded picks and tags can generally be used right away (unless the trade is likely to be quite controversial) rather than wait until after approval. Other recent transactions, eg. player drops, new signings, etc., might also not be reflected just yet, so you'll just have to account for that when checking this list.

BTW, not sure if everyone realized by now, but I've added a summary (front) page to the league spreadsheet to provide a quick summary of everyone's 2011 payroll/cap totals and the number of open MLB roster spots.
As usual, the league spreadsheet may not be 100% up-to-date, especially for very recent transactions -- and does not account for trades that are pending approval.
Also, if you know that you have buyout obligations reduced because of new signings (of your dropped players) -- and noticed that the reduction was overlooked in the spreadsheet -- please do let us know. It's a lot of manual effort for the LO to track stuff, and something like buyout obligation reductions can easily be missed due to how that works.
Thanks for your cooperation...

All,
I've added more summary info to the spreadsheet front page.
Hope y'all find it useful...

Friendly reminder that each team's max allowed (concurrent) MLB FA high bids = open MLB roster spots + 1. Thanks... and Happy Bidding! One last reminder before the LO needs to invalidate bids for exceeding this bidding limit. Please open needed MLB roster spots to meet this requirement if you wish to legally bid more than your current limit... NOTE: For MLB FA, the limit is based on open MLB roster spots (plus 1), not total open roster spots, ie. do not include open spots reserved for MiLB/prospects that you haven't filled yet. And each team has max of 30 MLB roster spots. Thanks for your cooperation... Happy Bidding!
