Can't be any worse than Ned. Doesn't really say much for me though. Should be interesting to see what the heck they'll do about signing Kemp after his MVP-worthy season while dealing w/ Kershaw's 1st year of arby eligibility following his own CY-worthy season, not to mention Ethier as well -- maybe they should be glad that Ethier fell back to earth quickly enough and won't command an otherwise huge raise. Somebody there's probably very sorry they didn't push enough to get Kershaw (or Kemp) signed long term over signing Bills and Lilly early this year...

I'm surprised there's people who don't think Kemp is the MVP. Dood flirted with the triple-crown. Should he be penalized bc the rest of the team (other than kershaw) sucks?

I think Jose Altuve has the NL MVP in the bag. Well, unless he gets penalized for being on a bad team, that is.

If Altuve went 40/40 with .300/400/.500, then I say he should be MVP too. But he didn't.
Kemp provided the most value to his team of any player in the NL. Unfortunately, other than Kershaw, no one else on the Dodgers did. One player can only effect a baseball game so much. I don't think the quality of the rest of the team should be considered. Kemp can only play 1 position and only hit in 1 spot in the lineup.
My wording was certainly too strong tho. Braun had a great year and I have no problem with him as MVP; he probably wins it because it usually goes to the guy on the good team. I don't agree.

I think with Altuve you should normalize stats against height in inches. Inch for inch, he's better than Kemp.
He's also on the trading block. ;D

Hahahaha... Don't forget to normalize for their salaries too... in which case maybe Kershaw deserves *both* CY and MVP since he only cost the Dodgers 500K in 2011. ;D

Kemp for MVP and Ker-CHING for Cy Young, wouldn't that (as a Dodgers fan) be sweet? Still think it could/should happen. Just a pity the rest of the team is so mediocre.
Some great articles by SI's Joe Posnanski on terrible contracts and the Cubs I just read, FWIW.
