FEB 1-Renteria in exchange for carlos silva
Feb 17-After a couple of quick exchanges, the Angels and Sox have agreed to a trade:
The Brown Sox receive OF Alex Rios ($1,335,000 for 2008 only)
The Angels receive CL Brandon Lyon ($300,000 for 2008 only) and the #4 MiLB draft pick.

In a move to free up some salary (and acquire a slight bit more speed), the Dodgers have agreed to send the Big Hurt Frank Thomas to the Brown Sox in exchange for Reed Johnson. The Sox should in turn benefit from the pop that Big Hurt can provide.

The Dodgers send Gil Meche to the Brown Sox in exchange for the Brown Sox's 4th round pick in the 2009 MiLB Draft.
We needed to free up a roster spot and a little bit of cash, and the Brown Sox could use another affordable, decent arm for their rebuilding process.
