Dodgers and Yankees wing it at the deadline

In a quick, gear-shifting deadline deal that follows some previous ongoing negotiations and recent change of events for the Dodgers, the Dodgers will finally send promising, top young OF Travis Snider (460K AAS, protected thru 2012), SP/RP Clay Hensley (400K, 430K thru 2012) and our 2012 MiLB 3rd round pick to the Yankees in exchange for the raw, but promising, catching prospect Gary Sanchez (300K AAS) and a bit of pitching relief in Chad Qualls (500K thru 2013).

We hate to do it, but will just have to bid Snider (along w/ our 3rd round pick) farewell for the 2nd time as we have more immediate needs right now and do like what we see in young Sanchez so far for the distant future.

And we wish the Yankees all the best w/ Snider and that 3rd round pick (and Hensley)... Thanks for the very fine talks...
