The DBacks and Halos have agreed to a multi-player deal that accomplishes both team's goals and meets their needs.
The Angels have agreed to send the oft overlooked and KIA contracted OF Jay Payton, FA and fallen from grace RP Derrick Turnbow and prospect SS Joaquin Arias to the Diamondbacks in exchange for FA and surging RP Jose Valverde.
The Diamondbacks need players since their roster has more vacancies than a Holiday Inn in Milo, GA.
The Angels need to open up some roster spots, move some salary and get a useful arm for the stretch run. While the Halos hated to give up a contracted bench bat and a very good prospect, it was key to making the deal work.
